More likely, young readers don't take time filling out surveys. Because they sure are doing a lot of reading. My daughter understands e-readers perfectly. I just think they adopt and don't even think about it because it's not weird to them. It's not a fight like it is with many grown-ups. Though the surveys do show older buyers of Kindle, surveys never give a real picture. I just don't think anybody really knows what is going on. And I love it!

Stick with it.

ScottAuthor Scott Nicholsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09778999586794284457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4129835172717195873.post-41441974040794094282010-08-30T19:59:34.506-07:002010-08-30T19:59:34.506-07:00I read Amanda's post, as well as a sample of h...I read Amanda's post, as well as a sample of her work. Good stuff.

Was told that YA doesn't sell on Kindle 'cause kids don't have e-readers. Naturally my (sp'd) book is YA, with a 2nd being edited - both geared more for boys & THAT doesn't help. Also tough since the POD company that I use (they're very good) sued Amazon, & won. (*sigh*) It's all confusing. Jump in or stick with print??? Dunno.

BTW - Just bought/started 'Drummer Boy' on my Kindle.David Ebrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03037059701518103541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4129835172717195873.post-1040423471038311202010-08-27T22:56:07.755-07:002010-08-27T22:56:07.755-07:00You talk a lot of sense, Scott. So basically each writer just has to weigh what you get with what you give up. I KNOW THEY DON'T PAY THE ROYALTIES AT THE HIGHER RATE BUT THEY HELP YOU GET A NICE COVER ART AND SOME CLOUT IN THE BOOKSTORES WITH THEIR POD IF YOU ALSO GO PRINT AT SAME TIME. ALSO WITH LULU OR CREATESPACE. THEY SEEM TO HAVE GOOD MARKETING PLANS.Regge Ridgwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13496938203092973538noreply@blogger.com
