Your opinion on our cover?

Hey, we are working on the cover for our children's book and seeking input on covers. Here are three options we have right now. It's probable we'll use a mix of suggestions so please help us out by commenting. The fourth one here is an amalgamation of suggestions so far (some of you had already commented before I posted it)

I vote for cover "C." The pink-purple border on the other two is a bit overwhelming, in my humble opinion. Maybe if it was a bit smaller.

I concur with Neal. It is a brighter, more fun- looking cover. The monster looks very appealing, too. Lee Davis has a wierd monster-sense, dude!

I just realized that I really like the lettering on the first two, what would it look like with the same lettering on cover C?

I love the font in A and B, but it's kinda hard to read because of the colors. If you could choose a different color scheme for A or B I would definitely prefer those.

My best choice would be then to use the font from A and B in idea C...

Is this any helpful!? lol sorry! :))

But they are really cute anyway!!

I like cover C the best as well. The border and text in A and B make it hard to read.

I like the font color and the cover without the border from C but prefer the font and the positioning used in A and B. Go with a combo! :)

I agree: I like the borderless image the best and the font from A and B (although maybe recolorized just a little to make it more legible).

I have to agree with the combo C with the font from A and B

I vote "C" as well. The other two covers seem a bit crowded/busy. The white font and lack of colored border on the third cover seem to appeal to my eyes, though I can't speak about what a kid will prefer.

"C" for me as well. It's the cleanest and easiest to read.

People liked the creative lettering but with a legible font so we're leaning toward the composite full-bleed with the white lettering and bold shadowing. Thanks! Still open to suggestions, as we have a series of these and want them all to match.

I like the amalgamation one the best! I was going to vote for option C, but that version with the "fun" lettering is quite cool.

full bleed for sure! i think 4 looks great.

I like no. 4 (the amalgamation) the best. The text is clear and the font is more fun than in the other and goes with the picture.

I'm really liking option 4 with the funky font, but it's still easy to read. Well done!

Love #4 (the amalgamation). I'd buy the book on the cover alone.

Cover A, but with the creator names in white. I like the purple/magenta border, but it seems too wide on the sides. Can you make it narrower like the top and bottom?

Bookhound78 said...

Yeah, now I really like choice 4. Think you nailed it with the fun font.

Number 4 or D is much better!

By the way, it is 10:03 on the 24th!? What is with this post marking?

Jeff said...

Well, that is closer than the first one! Sorry I'm wasting your space>

Yep, we went with the last one, thanks everyone, hopefully it will be out in time for Halloween!
